A few days ago, I did some pictures on old barns that I love. I was asked about one barn from Colorado and thought I'd give what history I could find on the barn. The barn in question, is in Evergreen Colorado. Just up the road a ways from me.
The barn sits on an establishment called "Evergreen Memorial Park". The park was founded by Ron and Carol Lewis. They wanted this park to be a tribute to the pioneers of Evergreen and the Old West. It is a 100 acre park.
The barn overlooks the reservoir and mountains. The amazing thing about this barn is it was put together from five old barns ranging in ages from 70 to 100 years old. As you can see, it has the most beautiful stained glass windows.
This beautiful place is the home for weddings, receptions, parties, funerals (there is a cemetery and pet cemetery on site) and more. It also houses 3 restored stone and timber cabins. There are deer, elk, buffalo and white buffalo on site in the animal preserve.
Isn't this just breathtaking!
For more information, you can find it Here. Hope you enjoyed the little tour! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteI've been through and passed by Evergreen for 30 years....never knew about this barn. Now I'll have to make a side trip the next time I head down from Chaffee County!
